I am primarily a figure, portrait and still life artist. I find it fascinating to take a non-living substance (paint) and create something alive, with thoughts and feelings.
My art education has been largely self-taught and through online tutorials. Since my love with art is in the classical realism genre, I have studied the techniques of artists who carry that lineage. Artists such as Cesar Santos, Alex Venezia, Stephen Bauman, Illiya Mirochnik and Michael Klein to name but a few. The sheer brilliance of the old masters is always driving me to improve, particularly the works of Bouguereau, Vermeer and Rembrandt.
In my art I am looking for simple beauty. My hope is that my work will reach a point where the surface of the canvas falls away and the viewer can see the world as I see it.
